Though it does not look as sleek as some other high end mounts do, the quality of this product is at par with them. It also comes with the mount for the AC vent but I did not try that out yet. I can easily plug my car charger into the phone, and also the aux cable to listen to my music or podcasts. I use this every single day, and I wouldn't do that if it was a pain.
I use this for a nexus s phone in a 2009 Honda fit. I stuck the adhesive disk on the dash and use the suction mount on the disk. The windshield mount is excellent; it holds tight to the windshield or any other smooth, flat surface, and is a huge improvement over the original mount that came with my Tom Tom. The vent mount is OK. I've used it less than a week and I am not sure about lasting durability, though the product seems to be made very well. I cannot comment on the vent attachment or the dash attachment as I didn't use them.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I needed it. So, I was pleasantly surprised. I had some difficulty with the stability of the vent mounts. Once I placed rubber bands around the two prongs, like someone else suggested, it became a lot more stable.
The "foot" of the clip also makes it impossible to mount successfully in more ideal positions, and adds no stability. Almost every time I put the phone in/out the thing falls out of the vent.
I do keep the angle of the stand a bit high because I am afraid that the phone may get released during a bump. This is because my phone is in the Otter box cover and the foam in this mount arms does not provide enough grip. The clamps hold extremely tight and are very adjustable. They are also padded, which makes the grip extra tight.
The design allows me to have the phone connected to the car charger while in use -- this is big plus since using the GPS navigation is a big battery drain. Great design and competitively priced. The other reviews here give a good description of what you can expect. I imagine that actual performance varies quite a bit depending on the car itself - particularly with the vent adapter. This product earns my 4 stars as I rarely give out 5 stars unless it's way above my expectations. This product offers a good balance of quality, style and price.
This product worked perfect for what I was looking for. I wanted something to attach to my air vent, since that is the best place in my car to put my phones GPS, and it not be in the way. I got this one and the Motorola brand dash mount. The Motorola mount is nice that it puts the phone in to car mode automatically when you put the phone on it.
