For vent mounting it is WORTHLESS! The "alligator clips" are 100% plastic.
I needed a mount to replace the proprietary mount for my GPS, so I could mount my dinc2, and it works. Haven't tried the vent clips, but the window mount sticks well and hasn't fallen off. I only knocked off a star for the vent mount problems but it is a very well-made product that has excellent value. Drive safe everyone! Studies have shown that even just talking hands-free can affect your reaction time, so it's not recommended (and may even be illegal in some places). Dialing out or scrolling through lists of any sort would be even worse. The phone doesn't move too much if any while going down the road. And it's not a bad price. A week later, the new suction cup arrived in the mail, and it is much better. Once it's attached and locked, you can pull on it and it won't budge (within reason!) Clearly I can reach out and turn the phone from portrait to landscape without fear of the suction cup falling off.
This one doesn't have the problem and I imagine it would work perfectly with any phone. The product is very flexible and the suction cup works great.
First generation Droid is a different size than my X, so beware. However with this product you don't have to worry about sizes since it is adjustable and well cushioned.
It was a little bulky. I did not try the sticky dash mount, or the seemingly flimsy vent mount. Also, the grip is easily detached from the mounts and reattaches with little trouble just in case you do need to switch between mounts. It's definitely a good product to consider if you are considering using your smartphone for GPS instead of your standard GPS devices.
Other than that, it's awesome. I was pretty happy with this mount. Product arrived when expected and is an awesome deal for the price. As a bonus, using the dashboard mount, now I can use my suction cup mount for my iPod and the vent mount for my phone.
I am not sure if mine was just defective, but unfortunately, the product can only be returned within the first 30 days, so I will not have a chance to try out another one. I would not waste your money on this product. I use the suction cup I don't really see why I would use the vent one although now that I think of it on the driver side vent it might be a good idea. I also don't use the little stick on thing for the suction cup because I have a window and it sucks onto that SO WELL!
The holder can adjust the size so it will work for most smartphones. There are a plenty of room on both the top and the bottom for cables.

It also came with a windshield mount, but that puts the phone too far from my face so no one can hear be properly. LARGE RECLINER SLIPCOVER.
